I absolutely loved Rachel's yoga classes because of her particular teaching method and how dedicated she is to make sure everyone worked progressively toward their peak poses. As a beginner, I was afraid of feeling behind or doing poses improperly which may result in injury. However, Rachel is notably communicative throughout her class, providing insight in the most minute detail in every stretch, intensity, and breathing technique to keep you relaxed and confident. She understood everyone had varying levels of flexibility and provided alternatives as needed. She is also super friendly, encouraging, and observant of her students to make sure they are at a comfortable pace. I am always pleasantly surprised by how much flexibility, endurance, and balance I've gained through correct body positioning in each class. Rachel does an amazing job at walking through with everyone in a step-by-step process. By the end of each class, I've always felt invigorated as I could see results of progression toward those peak poses I thought I'd never achieve. Eventually achieving a few peak poses myself has lead me to believe that Rachel's teaching has probably cut me down years of practice to only a few weeks. I've even introduced a friend to her class and she also felt the same about how great Rachel is at teaching compared to her other yoga teachers. Rachel would ask me for feedback about her classes to make sure she's improving her teachings as well which proves just how dedicated she is. Thank you so much for being a great teacher. Your yoga classes has also taught me many things besides reaching for those peak poses. I’ve been practicing yoga off and on for about ten years. The main thing I look for and appreciate in a teacher is that they are mindful of the practice. Rachel gets this!
So much of yoga today has become saturated. It’s focus is exercise not union. Which is what yoga is intended for, yoga literally means “union” in Sanskrit. With all the distractions of the modern world it’s hard to walk into a yoga class that is just another distraction. Loud music, fast pace, lacking meditation, awareness.
Rachel however creates a space that honors being mindful. She acknowledges her students and creates an open environment to practice, feel supported. This gives you the opportunity to create space within oneself and practice, acknowledge union. She’s also fun and easy going so I always felt excited to return to her class. No competitiveness, no pressure, just yoga!
From the first time I took Rachel’s flow class, I was very impressed with her passion and knowledge for yoga, her friendliness to all students, and her yoga technique to yogis of all levels. Rachel gives clear guidance, demonstrations and her personal tips to flow from one pose to another. I always leave her class feeling more energized and relaxed. She also takes time to personally know each individual student and encourages them to reach out to other yogis. It was sad to see her move but it was an honor that our paths crossed.
Rachel is an excellent yoga instructor. She is enthusiastic, caring, mindful and strong. She brings each of these aspects into her class and instruction. Rachel nurtures her student's to help them improve their flexibility, strength and mindfulness. Her positive attitude and mental fortitude make her classes enjoyable and challenging!
