My name is Rachel Wang and I am yoga teacher who is OBSESSED with sharing on how to develop a sustainable well-being practice through body, mind, and breath.
I want to help others believe that they “can” vs. “can’t”.
How this became my life
I stumbled upon yoga because I was looking to find something that was sustainable after years of injuries from high-impact sports, including basketball, tennis, and weight lifting.
I wasn’t very flexible at all, couldn’t even touch my toes…and my body awareness was lacking to say the least.
Most importantly, I needed help with my feelings of insecurity, anger, stress, impatience, shame, and judgement. Especially about my self-worth and body image.
Yoga has helped me tremendously, especially with drawing awareness to my breath and being more mindful.
I had also seen the evidence of injuries from my mother who used to practice religiously for 10 years, two times a day, five days a week. And one day, her practice stopped. So, I decided to take my first yoga teacher training in 2013 not with the intention of becoming a teacher but, to deepen my knowledge to make this a lifelong practice.
However, I was still frustrated with all the styles that didn’t translate to growing my physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual practice.
And in 2016, I completed my second teacher training with a deep flow style called cYoga. This is where I found my voice as a teacher because it suited the practice I was looking for and to teach (read my breakdown here).
I found teaching to be more fulfilling more than anything: to be able to contribute directly to one’s progress as I continue to learn more about myself and others along the way.
And now I want to help you build your own practice that is for the long run, so you can feel good in your own body for the rest of your life.
Not only am I a yoga and mindfulness teacher, I am also a plant lover, nature enthusiast, cat + dog mama, and friend.. I’m here to inspire and empower you on your well-being journey.
Let’s connect, I’d LOVE to get to know you.
